We focus our assistance on these areas of service:
Meeting the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
RMC Arlington helps school personnel to interpret their requirements and responsibilities, under Titles I and III, for involving parents in district and school planning. To eliminate barriers and build parent capacity, this work includes examining school policies, creating school compacts, and evaluating district and school initiatives on parental involvement.
Providing professional development.
RMC Arlington assists clients in applying research and best practices in parental involvement to design training for school personnel and parents. We also plan and conduct workshops and conferences that deliver training at the local, state, and national levels, with presentations by well-known researchers and practitioners.
Developing user-friendly materials.
RMC writes a variety of materials and publications for professional development and parent workshops. As part of developing these materials, in particular to understand local needs, we organize and convene focus groups with school staff and parents.
