Schools identified for improvement can increase student achievement if they have the right help. RMC Arlington has been awarded a contract from the Indiana Department of Education to provide school support team services to 8 Indiana schools identified for improvement. The intensive support includes a thorough review of the schools instructional program, help in developing a focused plan of action with priority strategies aimed at critical needs, and support in implementing and monitoring the school's key improvement strategies. Project director Doug Walker observed, "Once the school leaders accept their school's improvement status and realize that we are able to help them, we have seen shifts in their thinking and things begin to turn around."
